My story...

Where should I start?!Well...my name is Anna Bratanova and I come from a small but really beautiful and wonderful place in Eastern Europe called Bulgaria.I've been dreaming to be a designer for all my life.I know it sounds unbelievable, but when the other kids had been dreaming to be policemen, spidermen, ballette dancers, I was absolutely sure that I want to deal with arts and especially fashion design.I have always been good at drawing so I applied into an art school and I graduated in it in 2004.Then I wanted to come to study in Italy but I didn't feel ready enough to go alone to another country , to leave my friends and family so I decided to apply in an university in Bulgaria and to gain some experience in this field in order to come to Italy after 2 or 3 years. In this period I wasn't satisfied with the programme so I started to develop myself alone.Me and my friend Silvia started our own small jewellery company called Artcore and we continue to make hand made unicats for two shops in Bulgaria.During these 3 years I have been working for a while for an underwear company which was a really good experience for me and my first touch with the real fashion.I won two fashion design competitions - one organized by Avon Cosmetics and one in a very famous TV show in my country. After 3 years I took the decision to come in Milan and to start making my dream come true...here in IED.I'm glad to have the opportunity to be part of IED life - with so many different people and different cultures।I am ready to work hard to achieve success while I'm having fun because fashion is my great love and passion.

The topic which I chose for the Milan project is about Visconty Family - The rulers of Milan during 14th and 15th century.I chose to study the life of Visconti Family because I know very well that everything in fashion is a big circle and it comes over and over again.I really love Middle Ages, and I could find a big inspiration there. The members of this family are nobles and they have a very strong style. In my view my topic can be very well developed and can be a base for a very strong collection in the end.I love history so I can't wait to visit all of the places connected with Visconty Family and to start my research abouth their life, style and their influence on the town.

Some of my old projects...

I always put something surrealistic in my works. That's my signiture.I can't avoid it.May be too much Dali...:)
